Cameron Burr is one of those individuals who is naturally able to observe people, assess situations, and find buried gems. If you’ve ever met an advisor who can step in during a CEO’s absence and deftly take the controls, that’s Cameron. He’s got a good mental keel. Corporate development and leadership are his forte. But more than anything, he can pick up the phone and make connections between the worlds of aviation, private equity, and corporate America. It is amazing to watch.

Cameron has ridden shotgun with Bob Genise, a leading aircraft leasing executive at Boullioun Aviation Services, SALE, DAE Capital, Aergen, and Avioserv for a total of $22 billion in planes on lease to airlines around the world. He is also known for the restructuring of SBS International (subsequently acquired by Boeing), facilitating corporate refinancing; and representing hedge funds on their aviation investments. His roster of aviation experience includes Avioserv, Aerothrust Corporation, Pogo Jet, and the role of Managing Partner and Co-founder at Jet Capital.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Texas and is a member of the Wings Club based in New York. An avid skier, Cameron resides in Park City, Utah

Glenn became a pilot at 16 and has been flying for nearly 6 decades with experience at the control of over 75 different aircraft types. His knowledge of the aviation industry is vast and encompasses flight operations, regulations, maintenance and engineering, training, and expertise in accident investigation. Show him a screw and he’ll not only know its purpose, but he’ll also explain why it’s essential. He’s deeply steeped in aviation technology, and he sees the long view. He’s not just the answer guy, he’s the guy that knows what questions to ask.

After a successful career at American Airline HDQ including a lot of time in France and bringing aircraft to the states, Glenn co-founded The CAVOK Group, Inc. which Is now operated by Marsh McClennan’s Oliver Wyman Inc. division. He was a key figure in three of the mega airline mergers that occurred in the last decade as well as a major regional airline merger.

Glenn holds an Airline Transport Pilot License with several type ratings and approximately 10,000 hours. A graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in Business Administration, Glenn divides his time between Port Aransas, TX and Ruidosa, NM.

As a senior operating partner, Bart Nichols is our go-to devil’s advocate making him an important part of our ecosystem. His cautious, studious, and often skeptical nature has proven to be invaluable – because that’s what you want in a private equity finance guy. His steady hand is most helpful in preferential economics. We’ve found Bart in our business orbit for years and are appreciative of having access to his experience and his thought processes.

Bart was co-head of a $1 Billion USD denominated outbound private equity fund for Fosun Group, one of the largest private conglomerates in China. While there he led and closed the first foreign LBO ever completed at the company and was responsible for managing and mentoring a team of 13 junior investment professionals, both in Shanghai and NYC.

As a collegiate rowing crew member, Bart continues his practice every day. (Just another example of his uncompromising nature.) He holds an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a BA in Human Biology from Stanford University. He resides in Park City, Utah.

Vincent Cebula is an anomaly. For someone who has operated on the investments side of the equation his entire career, he belies all the stereotypes.

When we’re in the scrum of a project, someone will inevitably stick their head up and ask, “Has Cebula weighed in on this?”

Vince has been involved in the investment of over $1.7 billion in 30 companies and loves what he does in private equity, investment banking, and operational restructurings. He finds enjoyment in the process and is absolutely driven by curiosity – a fantastic trait in an advisor.

We first crossed paths with Vince more than 30 years ago in his early years with Drexel Burnham Lambert where he advised clients on acquisition and recapitalization financing. He continued to appear in our orbit as one of the original four senior members of Oaktree Principal Opportunities Fund and again during his time with Jefferies Capital Partners. Among other ventures, Vincent co-founded Solace Capital Partners, L.P., serving as managing partner and COO. Aviation investments (particularly aircraft leasing) have always been a part of his sphere.

It should surprise no one that Vince graduated Summa cum Laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics.

Presently, Vince serves as an independent director of publicly-traded Independence Drilling Contractors Staffing 360 Solutions. He has served as a board director of more than ten other public and private companies engaged in aviation, energy, manufacturing, and retailing.

Suffice it to say, we probably wouldn’t have given birth to Jet Capital without him. Does that make him the Jet Capital muse? Perhaps. We’re just blessed to have him.

As every great wrestler will tell you, there is no substitute for strength – strength of mind, strength of character, and strength of conviction. Those traits only begin to define David Hurley, a living legend in the world of aviation.

As a college wrestler, we believe David laid the groundwork for mental and physical capabilities that allowed his career to soar. Juxtapose that background with his membership in the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, and you begin to get the long view (60 years!) of the man we hold in high esteem.

It was fitting that David was named the Chairman of the Board for the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C., and now serves as Chairman Emeritus. (When you note that he steered the museum’s original capital campaign, you get a sense of the mindboggling breadth and depth of his connections in our industry.)

Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for Aviation Partners Boeing. He previously served as CEO, and Vice Chairman of PrivatAir Inc, based in Geneva, Switzerland. As a co-founder of Business Express Airlines, David played a key role in Delta Airlines’ launching of the Delta Connection. Earlier in his career, he founded Flight Services Group which was acquired by PrivatAir.

David has served on several public boards: Hexcel Corporation, B/E Aerospace Inc (now a part of Collins Aerospace), Genesee & Wyoming Inc., and Genesis Leasing Inc. He has also served on several private boards including CAMP Systems and Coulson Aviation. David holds an Executive Masters Certification with the American College of Corporate Directors, a signal to his strategic advisory prowess.

His first flight at age 14 in a Stinson Voyager and his experience as a check airman with multiple business jet-type ratings, led to more than 14,000 hours of professional flight time and ultimately his Airline Transport Pilot/Instructor credentials. Members of our team who have ridden alongside David in the most challenging of situations can vouch for his stature as a pilot. Even a Wall Street Journal article cited him for his explicit commitment to safety.

To us, David is mentor, coach, and champion. Now that’s a mic drop moment if there ever was one.

It’s a serious compliment when aviation leaders – all pilots themselves — refer to you as a pilot’s pilot. Craig Drew is that person. With significant credibility in flight ops, his experience covers airspace, dispatch, line ops, flight patterns (you get the drift), and more. Quiet, thoughtful, and humble, Craig brings a balanced, analytical perspective to everything we consider.

The Federal Aviation Administration knows it, too. As an FAA transport pilot with 23,000 hours, Craig is the guy they ask to serve on panels regarding next-gen air traffic control – a significant honor when it comes to aviation rulemaking.

With decades at Southwest Airlines, most recently as a Senior VP, Craig brought the pilot’s perspective to management. Prior to Southwest, Craig spent a near decade with SkyWest Airlines which included roles as Director of Flight Standards and FAA Designated Flight Examiner, among others.

And, simply because he loves it, Craig is a professor at Arizona State University teaching Aeronautical Management. So, when you note that his undergraduate and graduate education (Brigham Young University and California State University respectively) spans geography, economics, Korean, and historical studies in the humanities, you understand why this lifelong learner and teacher is a valuable member of our team.

Somehow, Craig still finds time for philanthropic volunteerism, skiing, and his other love, Canadian ice hockey.
